Humble "Freedom" Bundle

stringo0 / Feb 17, 2017 / News
In light of recent events in the US, Humble Bundle has set up a special "Freedom" bundle with the note "We humbly remember that the United States is a nation of immigrants, and we proudly stand with developers, authors, and charities that champion liberty and justice for all."

They are giving away 100% of the proceeds to the American Civil Liberties Union, the International Rescue Committee, and Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).

It features some awesome games from my wishlist like "Stardew Valley", "Super Meatboy", "Invisible Inc.", and some classics like "World of Good", "VVVVVV".

It is so cool to see Humble Bundle and all the game developers and authors behind this make this happen - this is an amazing bundle, and giving away 100% of the proceeds is very generous and thoughtful!

They've raised over $5,072,189 so far! Crazy, right?

You can check out the bundle at

Have you seen any other examples of people/companies doing things like this?

What's your favorite game from the bundle?

I thought the bundle was a great thing for Humble to do but I wish it didn't support the American Civil Liberties Union. From their about page:
"Whether it’s achieving full equality for LGBT people, establishing new privacy protections for our digital age of widespread government surveillance, ending mass incarceration, or preserving the right to vote or the right to have an abortion, the ACLU takes up the toughest civil liberties cases and issues to defend all people from government abuse and overreach."
As a Christian, I have an issue with some of the ideas that they defend.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Bilbo_51!

Yeah, this is definitely a tricky situation and something people might not be aware of.

I like that for a lot of things they let you decide which charity your donations go to.
Full disclosure (I feel like my answer could be misunderstood):
Personally I do think people can be born gay and that the bible supports gay relationships (with the same restrictions as it has for straight relationships) and gay marriage.

That said, the Rebellion is a place for gamers who believe both sides, and gamers who are not Christians as well.

Feel free to ask me questions about this if you like!
